Shift and Rule Issue Checker

The Issue Checker is a tool that will help identify common shift or rule issues and conflicts. The issue checker will analyze the following common scenarios and indicate if there's a conflict:

  1. A shift does not have anyone assigned to it (i.e. empty shift)

  2. A shift has someone assigned to it who has requested a Day Off for that same day

  3. A shift has someone assigned to it who has requested a Shift Off for that same day and same shift

  4. A shift has someone assigned to it who has requested a Paid Time Off (PTO) shift for that same day and same shift. Note, there are different PTO tag options, such as PTO-Vacation, PTO-Education, PTO-Admin, PTO-Maternity, PTO-Jury, PTO-Sick, PTO-Parental Leave etc.

  5. The person assigned to the shift does not have the shift / spot / skill proficiency to work that shift

  6. The shift has someone assigned to it who worked a night shift the prior night. Note, this check only works if you have identified specific shifts with a "night" tag.

  7. The shift has someone assigned to it who worked an evening shift the prior evening. Note, this check only works if you have identified specific shifts with an "evening" tag.

  8. If a rule pattern has not been met - ie. If working Friday on shift X, then also work Saturday and Sunday on shift Y. In this example, if the complete pattern wasn't meet, then issue checker will flag.

Going forward, we plan on adding addition checks, including certain rule checks. As such, this list will expand.

The Issue Checker is located at the top of your screen, as shown in the following image:

    • Note, by clicking on the issue, it will take you to the shift popup, you may need to use other views such as the expanded calendar / consultant view to analyze the shift issue and determine a viable solution to rectify.
