Rotation Template is a feature that allows you to create an employee's schedule in a perfect world. You can set up to an 8 week rotation. Each day in a rotation doesn't have a date, instead it has a day offset. To add a rotation template, you go to Autopilot > Rotation and then click the "Add Rotation" button.
Once a New Rotation is added, you can Name the Rotation, Select the Employee Assigned to that Rotation and then set up to an 8 week rotation Schedule.
This feature allows you to create hybrid schedules with some employees or shifts having a set Rotation schedules and scheduling other Employees or Shifts using our Autoscheduler. Therefore, you need to manually lay down the rotations onto the empty schedule before running the autoscheduler.
To Add one or more Rotations to the Schedule, go to Autopilot > Roster > Add Rotations, and then select the Rotation Template and then a Start Date. After your click "Add Rotation", all selected Rotations will be added all at once to the Schedule and pinned.
Rotation Workflows is a feature that allows you to create a sequence of employee assignments to shift in a perfect world. You can loop the workflow assignment as well. This feature is ideal for teams that rotate extended rotations over several days. For example, a hospitalist group of 5 people that rotate through the consult service. To add a rotation template, you go to Autopilot > Rotation Workflows and then click the "Add Workflow" button.
To add the Rotation Workflow to the schedule, go to Autopilot > Roster > Add Rotations, and then select the Rotation Template and then a Start Date. After your click "Add Rotation", all selected Rotations will be added all at once to the Schedule and pinned.
The Rotation Pattern Rule is a feature used by the Autoscheduler to enforce wanted shift patterns beyond the standard limit of the Wanted Shift Pattern rule of up to 4 shift types in a row. To use this feature, you need to have the Rotation Pattern Rule turned on in Autopilot > Rules > Global Rules.
