# Assign

This is where you can manually assign employees to shifts either before or after running the autoscheduler. By default, any employee you assign to the shift here will be [**pinned**](/autopilot/roster/untitled-5.md) for the autoscheduler. To unassign a shift, click on EMPTY and then click on the Shift to be unassigned on the calendar.

You can also unassign employees from shifts in bulk. Click the **Bulk Unassign** button, and then select a range and type of unassign action.
